George Till

George Till had been a member with the New Hope Eagle Fire Company since 1992.

He served as Past Captain of The Fire Police and Financial Secretary. 

George received the "Rookie of the Year" award and "The Burpee Award in 1997."

George and his smile will be missed by all of us.

George G. Till died Monday, June 5, 2006, at Easton Memorial Hospital in Easton, Md. He was 77.
Born in New Brunswick, he graduated from South River High School and Rider College. He lived in North Brunswick before moving to New Hope and St. Michaels, Md., 15 years ago.
He was executive vice president of New Brunswick Bank and Trust Co., in New Brunswick, before retiring in 1991. He had been a member of the board of governors of the American Institute of Banking, was past president of the American Banking Association, past president of the New Jersey State Safety Deposit Association and held positions on several other boards and committees as well as teaching evening classes in banking at Rutgers University.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War.
Mr. Till was an upstanding member of the community in more ways than one. He was past treasurer for the New Hope Chamber of Commerce, was a member and past captain of the New Hope Eagle Fire Department and Fire Police, and a member of the Bucks County Youth Aid Program. He was a 50-year member of the Highland Park Lodge 240, Free and Accepted Masons, Highland Park, N.J.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret.
Surviving are his wife, Jane Clark Till; sons Jeffrey Till and his wife, Jeanette, of Henderson, Nev., and Bruce Till of Gaithersburg, Md.; a sister, Joyce Szabo of Milltown; a brother, Tracy Till of Deltona Beach, Fla.; and a grandson, Christopher Till.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Entombment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
